A woman led a Bible Study at a care home. Afterward, a resident who had dementia told her, “You help me remember things I used to know.” At another care home, a woman led residents in singing. A resident said to her, “Thank you for the music. It’s wonderful! Thank you for what you do for these people. You make them feel like they know something.” What a stunning insight from a person with dementia! One young nursing assistant we’ve known for years has been deepening his walk with the Lord. We have watched him grow spiritually, and several months ago we asked him if he would be willing to prepare and share the devotional during an upcoming service at the care home. He agreed - hesitantly. The day of the service, he stood in front of the room, red- faced and uneasy, shared a very brief Scripture and sat down quickly. Afterward, he sheepishly told us how nervous he had been. We told him it was wonderful that he had the courage to try, and encouraged him to keep sharing. And he is!
