Chapter 4 – Forever Friends
Many of our friends are depressed and grieving as they journey through the many losses associated with entering a nursing home. Because of their painful experiences, some will avoid contact with other residents and staff, trying to work through their grief in isolation. The compassion and encouragement of a caring friend who knows what it is like to be in this situation can be invaluable and life-giving. Jesus directs His followers to be willing to take the first steps in starting caring friendships within our community.
Three Lessons on Forever Friends:
- 1. Becoming a Caring Friend: Being the first to be a friend.
- 2. Friend to All: Being a friend to everyone—loving our difficult neighbors.
- 3. A Closer Look at Our Love: Examining the depth of our love and looking to the Lord to empower us to love as He loves.
